DTUI.com LLC (aka Diversity Training University International, LLC) considers your personal privacy to be of utmost importance. This Privacy Policy describes our current policies and practices with regard to information we collect through this site.

Protecting your private information is our priority. This Statement of Privacy applies to the http://www.dtui.com and DTUI.com LLC and governs data collection and usage. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to DTUI.com LLC include http://www.dtui.com, DTUI, Diversity Executive Leadership Academy, http://canvas.instructure.com/courses/890087, and http://canvas.instructure.com/courses/926760. The DTUI website is a professional education, training and consulting site. By using the DTUI website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

Scope of this Policy. Certain portions of the Site may contain notices stating that different policies and practices apply with regard to information collected through those particular portions of the Site, and in those cases, such different policies and practices shall supersede this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy does not cover any employees, faculty, contractors, consultants or agents of DTUI.

What and When is Personal Information Collected?

The only Personal Data we collect through this Site is the Personal Data you volunteer when you use this Site, for example, the information you provide when you request a School Catalog or complete a survey. “Personal Data” means information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, such as name, age and e-mail address.

DTUI does not collect any Personally Identifiable Information from you except when you expressly volunteer the information. This includes when you:

  • Register for a seminar, become a Member, purchase or download a DTUI product or service.
  • Request information (electronically) about DTUI’s products and services, subscribe to newsletters or enter a promotional contest.
  • Use or participate in various services or features made available on the Website (including, for example, and without limitation, blogs and other user communities).
  • Use various tools to select DTUI products and services that are suitable for your Website visit.
  • Request contact with a DTUI sales representative.
  • Provide DTUI with comments, questions or feedback about DTUI products and services or your Website experience.

“Personally Identifiable Information” includes, for example, your name; home or business address; e-mail address; telephone, wireless and/or fax number; short message service or text message address or other wireless device address; instant messaging address; credit card and other payment information; employment information and work experience; demographic information and/or other information that may identify you as an individual or allow online or offline contact with you as an individual.

If you register for a seminar or pay for products and services using a credit card, Personally Identifiable Information (such as your name and shipping address) and financial information (such as your credit card number and expiration date) may be required. This information may be used for billing purposes and to fill orders. If we have trouble processing an order, this contact information may be used to get in touch with you. Personally, Identifiable Information also may be collected when you apply for a position with DTUI or a program sponsored by DTUI. In these cases, Personally Identifiable Information is used only for the purpose of processing and evaluating the application.

The Personally Identifiable Information you give us via the Website and information about your order may be combined with other Personally Identifiable Information (such as demographic information and past purchase history) available from our records and other sources (including, without limitation, our worldwide databases). This information may be used to make our future marketing efforts more efficient and will help us to improve the operations and maintenance of our Website and business.

Information about your computer hardware and software may be automatically collected by DTUI. This information can include your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. This information is used for the operation of the service, to maintain the quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the DTUI website.

Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through DTUI’s public message boards, this information may be collected and used by others.

How Does DTUI Use My Personal Data?
DTUI collects and uses your personal information to operate its website(s) and deliver the services you have requested. DTUI uses the Personal Data you volunteer through this Site to provide the information, services, and products you request. For example, we use the information you provide when you request a School Catalog, and we use your e-mail address to respond to your comments or questions.

In addition, we may study the Personal Data collected through this Site to improve our programs and services, to improve the content, functionality, navigation, and usability of this Site, to better understand the needs and interests of learners, alumni and the other constituencies we serve, and to better market our programs, services and products. We also use it to place your information in the Job Bank or Diversity Trainer Referral Service.

From time to time, we may send you updates, special offers, or other information about programs, services, and products we believe would be of interest to you. If, at any time, you would like us to remove your name from any of our marketing lists, please contact us. We will do our best to promptly comply with your request unless we believe that the communications at issue are necessary to administer our programs, to provide a quality online learning experience consistent with our program descriptions, or to comply with applicable law.

DTUI does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties.

DTUI may share data with trusted partners to help perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to DTUI, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.

DTUI may keep track of the websites and pages our users visit within DTUI, in order to determine what DTUI services are the most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising within DTUI to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area.

DTUI will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on DTUI or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of DTUI; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of DTUI, or the public.

Does DTUI Share My Personal Data?
DTUI may share Personal Data collected through this Site with other companies, organizations, and individuals who perform certain functions on our behalf, for example, companies that provide support services to us (such as credit card processing services) or that help us market our products and services (such as colleges with whom we have referral relationships). They may need information about you in order to perform their functions. They are not authorized to use the information we share with them for any other purpose.

In addition, there are other, limited circumstances in which DTUI may share or transfer the Personal Data in our databases, for example, with your permission; when we believe it is necessary: to comply with U.S. Department of Education reporting requirements or the reporting requirements of accrediting bodies, to comply with a court order or subpoena, to comply with a legal requirement, to enforce our conditions of use and other agreements, to protect the rights, property or safety of DTUI, our users or others, to protect your vital interests, to administer our programs, to provide a quality online learning experience consistent with our program descriptions; or in the event of a corporate sale, merger, reorganization, dissolution or similar event. In particular, we exchange Personal Data with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

When You Refer a Friend/Colleague

DTUI respects the privacy of your friends and coworkers. DTUI will not keep or maintain names or e-mail addresses when you use our refer-a-friend function. The refer-a-friend function is solely to provide your friends and coworkers with the information you have requested we pass along to them.

Webcast, Online “Meetings” and Similar Services

Users may be able to access or participate in Webcasts, online “meetings” or similar services on the Website, certain of which may be hosted or operated by our service provider, WbinarJeo. In some cases, users may be able to register for such Webcasts and services directly with Citrix, and any such Personally Identifiable Information collected by WebnarJeo in connection with such registration and such user’s participation in the services thereafter may be shared with DTUI. In other cases, some users may be able to access Webcasts, online “meetings” or similar services hosted by Citrix on the Website by registering with DTUI, and in such situations, any Personally Identifiable Information that may be disclosed during participation in such services would be collected by Adobe on Citrix’s behalf but would be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Maintaining Education Records

If you are a participant, or potential participant, in a DTUI course or program, information about you is excluded from the scope of this Privacy Policy because it is governed by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and DTUI’s FERPA compliance policy.

DTUI maintains records of those who have registered for online or classroom courses for which a certificate or certification is granted upon completion. No education record, however, may be destroyed if there is an outstanding request or notice of pending request to inspect and review the record. Also, the record of requests for and disclosures of the education record and any explanations that are a part of the record must be maintained for as long as the education record to which it pertains is maintained.

The record custodian shall maintain documentation of requests and disclosures of personally identifiable information from a registrant’s education records. The record shall include, whether requests are granted or not, the name(s) of the person(s) who requested the information; the names of the additional parties to whom the receiving party may disclose the information on behalf of DTUI; and their legitimate interests in the information. Records of requests and disclosures will not be maintained for: (1) requests made by the registrant him/herself; (2) requests for which the registrant has given written consent; (3) requests made by DTUI officials with legitimate educational interests; or (4) requests for directory information.

The record of requests and disclosures may be inspected by the registrant, by DTUI officials responsible for the custody of the records, and by external officials for the purpose of auditing record keeping procedures.

How Does DTUI Protect Personal Data?
At DTUI, the integrity and security of our databases depend on protecting the information. Although DTUI cannot guarantee against any loss, misuse, unauthorized disclosure, alteration or destruction of data, we try to prevent such unfortunate occurrences. Our servers and databases are protected by firewalls and passwords. In addition, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software to encrypt data as it travels between your computer and our servers. When you see a solid key or a locked padlock icon at the lower portion of your browser window, this indicates that your transmission will be protected by SSL technology.

Does DTUI Collect Information From Children Through This Site?
DTUI does not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under the age of thirteen through this Site. If you are under sixteen, WE DO NOT PERMIT YOU to give us any Personal Data. If you have reason to believe that a child has provided Personal Data to DTUI through this Site, please contact us, and we will endeavor to delete that information from our databases.

What About Other Sites That May Be Linked To This Site?
One of the strengths of our university is that a wide spectrum of resources is readily made available to you. As such, this Site contains links to Web sites that are not operated by DTUI. These links are provided for your reference and convenience only and do not imply any endorsement of the products sold or information provided through these sites, nor any association with their operators. DTUI does not control these sites and is not responsible for their data practices.
