Introduction
The classroom version of certified diversity professional (CDP) training requires the completion of a four-day course. Certification is presented upon successful completion of the training. The course is not to be confused with the online version of the CDP training, which is described in detail in the DELA 100B overview below. This overview is for DELA 100A only.
Course Overview
The purpose of this course is to provide participants with a step by step strategy for transforming an organization into an engaged, productive, and inclusive workplace.
Objectives
By the end of this seminar, you will have learned how to:
- Use an organizational change approach in planning a strategy for increasing inclusion in an organization.
- Assess an organization’s inclusion barriers and stage of inclusion
- Complete the steps in the design, development, and implementation of a strategic plan
- Use a set of techniques for onboarding stakeholders in order to create sustainable inclusion programs
- Develop a rationale for the inclusion plan
- Utilize the content to build a plan
Evaluation
Successful completion of the course requires completing the classroom and meeting attendance assignments. Each assignment must be completed. Attendance requirements include getting to class on time, resisting email, chat, etc. communications, ability to follow the course ground rules, etc.
